Did I miss the fashion memo?

I went to the gym today. The first time in... 2 weeks? Now before you go jumping to conclusions, I have been doing the Wii Fit (doesn't that count?) and I just started personal training last Wednesday (And was sore for TWO DAYS!) In any case, I headed to the gym with iPod in hand and a desire to kick some fat booty. And I did! 20 minutes on the eliptical and 20 minutes on the stair climber. I felt great! But when I was on the eliptical I began noticing the other women. Come on, admit it. If you are a woman, you check out the other women to see your.... competition? Are her arms more defined than mine? Does she have a slimmer stomach? But the more I kept looking around the more I noticed what they were wearing. And how they matched.... even down to their sports bras! Here I was in Matt's oversized t-shirt and the girl in front of me is sprinting in the cutest workout outfit. The girl two machines down has her hair in an updo like she's going to prom after this. Did I miss the fashion memo? Sporting a frumpy, XL t-shirt that I was swimming in, brown capri yoga pants and my hair up in the sweatiest updo ever, I felt that I had missed the memo that I was suppose to look GOOD to workout. Now I am not judging those who look extra styling at the gym - God wishes I could wear something that cute! But I must admit that I felt pretty damn good, x-large tshirt and all, when I got off my 40 minute workout stretch. And dont you worry - one day I will be the girl in the cutest workout outfit. Just you watch!

Starting over.. and over?

So I started over March 7, 2011 and here I am... almost a month later! LOL I'm going back and forth on whether or not to start a whole new fat blog or just continue with this one. Part of me wants a clean start, but knowing I can look back on where I started and where I am now is a huge motivation. So for now, I'll keep this one. I'm back on SparkPeople (www.sparkpeople.com) again and feeling good. I officially started the first week today and one thing I've changed is not weighing myself religiously like I use to. Mainly because the one thing that would set me off is working hard, getting on the scale and seeing that it hadn't moved a pound. OR even half a pound. I bought the sparkpeople book for my Kindle and have loved every page. It talks straight forward about changing your lifestyle and not necessarily going on a "diet". This weeks starts the first "Fast Break" where I write down my goals, including my fitness, nutritional and motivational goals for this week. To start my week goals are as follows: Nutritional - Eat 2 servings of fruit or vegetables Fitness - Do 10 minutes of exercise Motivational - Tell someone your goals Long Term Goals: Get my weight back down to 140 within the next year Establish a healthy lifestyle Run a half marathon For the week long goals, Im shooting for 5 out of the next 7 days. While I want to do all 7, I will not be upset with myself if I only get 5 days. Im also tracking my food on sparkpeople to really see what Im putting in my mouth everyday. Its a great tool and a real eye-opener! I look forward to this new journey and invite anyone to join me!

Stop Being Fat 2.0

Im starting over and that's that.

Hi - Im Stephanie and Im fat. Before you go saying "Oh Stephanie, you're not fat" Im going to tell you Im back up to 171.6. Ok, thats a lie. Im back to 172.6 per my weigh in this morning.

But Im back and ready to kick some fatt butt!

Matt and I started this 2.0 journey, together, last Monday. And I have to say I've been doing great with my eating. The exercise is another story. I've been slowly adding the Wii and running into my plan. I need to really kick it up a notch to get better results.

One day at a time. One day at a time.

Hello... Is it me you're looking for?

I know I havent posted in awhile when someone comments on my last post (from weeks ago) that I haven't post in FOREVER!

So here I am!

Dont worry, I still think about you. And this blog. Things have started getting busy at work with conference next month (Louisville, here I come!) and frankly, when I get home Im tired and would rather catch up with The Kardashians and watch Teen Mom (quilty pleasure #322).

In any sense, I have still been doing good with food and... well food only as I havent exercised in quite some time.

But I would like to report that I am down another pound from last week:

170.2 baby!!!!

Im ALMOST in the 160's and Im sooooo excited to get there. Baby Steps have really paid off and I will be excited for that next milestone. 169 here I come!

Now if only I could find my exercise motivation!

Exercise to the rescue!

I haven't exercised in well over a week. Matt and I checked out the gym that was free to hotel guests when we were on vacation as well as hiked over 4 miles to the beach and back. I went on an hour walk with Ava both days this weekend. That counts... right?

Which makes me pose the question, "Why do we feel that we have to do an hour of cardio, yoga, weight lifting, etc everyday to count?"

I feel that sometimes we get in a rut with exercise because, quite frankly, it can be boring and the least exciting thing to do on your list.

So I challenge everyone to do a week of "fun" exercise! Take your kids (or dogs) on a fun walk around the neighborhood. Point out houses you like along the way and talk about interesting animal (birds, etc) that you see along the way. If you live near hiking trails, throw on some tennis shoes and explore the outdoor world! Take the time to get in the all important exercise, but at a pace that's fun and exciting and having you ask yourself, "I've already been doing this for an hour?!?"

You'll be amazed at how fast, and FUN, exercise can be!
