I haven't exercised in well over a week. Matt and I checked out the gym that was free to hotel guests when we were on vacation as well as hiked over 4 miles to the beach and back. I went on an hour walk with Ava both days this weekend. That counts... right?
Which makes me pose the question, "Why do we feel that we have to do an hour of cardio, yoga, weight lifting, etc everyday to count?"
I feel that sometimes we get in a rut with exercise because, quite frankly, it can be boring and the least exciting thing to do on your list.
So I challenge everyone to do a week of "fun" exercise! Take your kids (or dogs) on a fun walk around the neighborhood. Point out houses you like along the way and talk about interesting animal (birds, etc) that you see along the way. If you live near hiking trails, throw on some tennis shoes and explore the outdoor world! Take the time to get in the all important exercise, but at a pace that's fun and exciting and having you ask yourself, "I've already been doing this for an hour?!?"
You'll be amazed at how fast, and FUN, exercise can be!

It's not a fat blog.... it's a journey and destination to skinny blog!
This is what a good friend of mine sent me in a text when I told her I hadn't written lately on my fat blog.
And she's right. I've been absent from the blog, but still trucking along on this journey. So much so that I was a bit worried to weigh in this morning. I was on vacation for a few days.. did I do as well as I thought? Have my portions been OK?
But I must have been doing something right because I was down another pounds..
171.2!
Im SOOOOOO close to being out of these dreaded 170's. I will be so excited when I am back in the 160's. Which sounds funny from someone who thought she was "fat" when she got married 5 years ago at 135! Or right before I got pregnant with Ava at 150! Oh how I long for those numbers and fitness.
To the journey and destination of being skinny!

Sweet Tomatoes and Waffles!
Today marks 5 years that I have been married to my husband. The most amazing man I have ever known (next to my dad of course!)
I can't believe its been five years since we said "I Do!" Where did the time go? In the five years we've been married we've lived in four different apartments, owned six different cars and parents to the most amazing 15 month old anyone could ask for. I am so grateful to have such an amazing man in my life who makes me fall in love everyday.
And to celebrate our great relationship, my husband made me waffles in bed. Is that in the diet plan? In any case, I pushed my "diet" aside and ate them up! YUM! To make up for it, I didn't have a morning snack (Im still way to full!) and a very small lunch.
He has football practice tonight so Im heading to dinner tonight with my good friend, Marge (Hi Marge! :) We're headed to Sweet Tomatoes because I have a coupon for buy one get one half off! (My husband and I are using Mint.com to budget our money, so coupons for everything now!) I LOVE Sweet Tomatoes. I will make an amazing salad and indulge in a small fixing of ice cream. To end the "sweet" night we will be watching my boyfriend on the big screen. Seriously, Zac Efron is so dreamy :)
Im looking forward to an amazing four day weekend and wish work would end so it could finally start! Come on 4:30, you can't get here fast enough!

Feeling GRRRRREAT!
I've been very good with tracking my calories on SparkPeople (seriously, if you havent heard about it, check it out at sparkpeople.com). When Im at work I usually track my calories BEFORE I eat them because it usually makes me think twice about eating certain things (ie. instead of a banana AND a hardboiled egg as a snack, I only eat an egg). Im calorie range is roughly 1300-1700 on the website. Yesterday I was right at 1,430.
I also have been doing workout videos at home. I started the P90X videos that Matt got awhile back. That shits hard! You're suppose to do the schedule which is 6 days a week, but I've only been able to do a video every other day. And they're like a hour each! Yesterday I opted for the legs and back workout. I could barely walk this morning.
We're heading to the coast this weekend and Im ready! Ready for a mini vacation with the hubsters for our anniversary but also ready for food choices. The hotel we're staying at also gives you a complementary pass to the fitness gym across the street so I plan on going there while we're away.
How are YOUR fitness plans going?
